Glamorous Afternoon Tea at the RAC Club, Pall Mall, London

On Monday 3rd March we gathered at the magnificent RAC Club to celebrate an afternoon of dance, and the launch of the national Let’s Dance initiative led by our fantastic president Angel Rippon.
After a wonderful drinks’ reception, we sat down to afternoon tea with a fine selection of sandwiches, cauliflower satay and sausage rolls, followed by scones, Devon clotted cream and champagne strawberry jam.
Suitably “fuelled”, Angela introducing us to the “new” member of the Celebrity Come Dancing team, who in his first dance with Angela managed to “injure” her and hence danced solo briefly before taking off his wig and bursting into song, which, of course, was the plan being one half of the opera singers Andy Searle and Rory Campbell: devious ehh !
Of course, as well as having fun, the purpose of the afternoon was to raise money for our 2025 charities, Jigsaw, Thornbury and The Meath Epilepsy Charity. Bob Bevan actioned as auctioneer and through the generosity of many of our supporters, we raised £5,300.

In addition to the auction, we had a raffle which was skilfully managed by Neil Durden-Smith and Christopher Biggins raising yet more money for our charities.
With the serious bit of the afternoon complete, we returned to the dance floor where the sequins and feather boas were really put through their paces.
A great afternoon was had by all finishing at 6.00pm before refreshments in the Army and Navy Club.
