Cruising down the Thames!

To all who joined our summer delight,

A riverboat cruise on a Wednesday night—

Well, day, to be true, from Westminster’s shore,

With fizz in hand and hearts that soared.

The Millennium Diamond carried our cheer,

As laughter rang loud from far and near.

Old friends embraced, new ones we made,

While London’s great sights in sunlight played.

Big Ben chimed as we drifted by,

The London Eye turned slow and high.

The Shard stood proud in skyline grace,

While bridges framed the water’s face.

With chicken lunch and cakes to spare,

We dined and laughed in summer air.

The drinks, they flowed with easy pace,

As smiles lit up each happy face.

Then sweet Rosemary, sax in hand,

Played melodies that warmed the band.

A Titanic tune — bold, yet sly,

(Though the Captain gave a wary eye!)

From classics smooth to modern flair,

Her notes danced light upon the air.

And weaving through, with quiet flair,

Was Richard Pinner, debonair. His magic left us in delight,

How did he do it? Try as we might

Then came the raffle — oh, what joy!

With hearts as full as we could employ.

We raised £3,000, loud and clear,

For charities we hold so dear:

The Meath and Jigsaw Thornbury, too—

Our thanks to every one of you.

So here’s to the memories, warm and bright,

Of a riverboat cruise and pure delight.
